Are any of your old compressors old naval engines? Out where my dad works their compressors were naval engines, some dating back to WW2. He has some of the plates off of a few of them. They were replaced a few years back due to reliability issues and emission requirements.

What your refering to is a MEP " Fairbanks Morse". They are crazy engines. They were actually submarine engines.
They were adapted to natural gas and used for power generation and gas compression.
IT had a crankshaft on top and one on the bottom. Two pistons per cylinder.

Was the 10,000 hour a misprint? Cause that aint many hours considering how messed up those parts are looking.
Get some pictures of the fuel injection system. Does it have a pump or is it Unit Injected?
How much fuel does it burn in an hour and how big are the ships fuel tanks?
No misprint- 10,000 hours.

It has a fuel pump and injector, no unit injection.

Burns about 42 gallons per mile and carries about 1 million gallons of diesel fuel.

When you fill 'er up does the pump still shut off at $75?
