That sucks. Hope they get it back to you in a timely fashion, and that it is still under warranty.

Sucks to hear but the amount of issues with the 6.0 and 6.4 PSD are the reason Ford told Navistar to piss off and did the 6.7 PSD in-house.

I can't believe it would take the cylinder out that fast. I know someone who ran their Duramax 6 months with a leaking injector before it would not start anymore due to low compression. It would have to be straight running out of the injector for it to wash down that fast. You would have had check engine lights smoke and derates. Did they do a manual blowby test or just use the trucks computer?

It doe's not surprise me they would just replace the engine. When I worked at Cat they were starting to use a lot of long/short blocks. We could not rebuild them for the cost it could be bought whole with a warranty.

Gotta love those old reliable diesel engines.

They were reliable until the government had the bright idea to get involved. The EPA is killing the diesel industry thanks to its ignorance and uneducated regulations.

They said cylinder #2 was 15% low and the engines blow by was over their spec. To me 15% is **** all, Maybe 30% is something to start thinking about, I think they are doing this for fun!? :wtf:

Truck is down for 2 weeks too. :frustration:

Only good thing about it is they can`t call me out at night or on weekends. :D2
