Unless they changed the regs in NY you stand a good chance of failing your next inspection. I was a NYS inspector for about ten years, about nine years ago, and front & rear bumpers were required to pass the safety inspection.

just had it inspected a month ago with no problems also got pulled over for window tint and had 2 troopers walking al around my truck all they said was my taillights were to dark then I showed them the fire and ice light bar and they seemed ok with the taillights then.....didnt say anything about the roll pan:dunno:

Like I said, I was an inspector but it was a few years ago. My certification expired in '01. A lot could have changed since then. :)

Well like everyone has said, if you plan on having the rear end dropped more, keep the pan then, as is, the bumper looks great.

I say, if it were me, I'd put the bumper back on it, only because I seem to back into stuff all the time.:dunno:

I have a steel roll pan, that I was going to put on my 03, but didn't for that very reason. Now I have no need for it.

:dunno: Not a fan of lowered trucks, but I guess the pan would look better once it's lowered.

wow 8 to 8 on the poll......I think I have decided to put the hitch and bumper back on or a new bumper actually my old one had a few dings it it and the back was starting to rust. this time im going to spray the back with some yellow rhino liner so it wont rust and spray the hitch with black rhino liner so it doesnt rust. I was looking at the roll pan and i guess winter arnt good on them the "stainless" bolts that hold it on have all rusted and 2 snapped off and are gone and theres a couple scrapes on it from something that is now rusting....gotta love winters. and I might not lower it anymore I might just sell my kit and get 2" lowering shackles to level the truck that way I can tow with it if I want to i mean it is a truck:thumbs:
