Sounds like an improvement for Ford, but at 360 HP their performance numbers aren't all that impressive. I don't think they are any better than a 5.3 Chevy. :dunno: Not a knock on Ford, but I was expecting a bit more performance.

I still prefer the Chevy engine, even being an older design it still meets customer's requirements. Sure the DOHC layout of the Coyote engine has less project limitations, so some more power/torque could be expected...

Yes! Factory stock trucks, add the best tuners and let them race. No other mods just laptop tuning, it would be very interesting to see what they could uncover.
It is completely different being that this motor has DOHC and also has VVT. The ability to change the power output is in another league from the pushrod V8's GM has.

I want to see what edge and PHP can do with a simple tuner, I have the edge on my 05 with the 3v 5.4 and its a night and day difference.

GM had been more conservative for years, maybe a few decades if we can consider. Even with the OHV layout some improvements could be done to the SBC, from VVT to 4-valve cylinder heads.
