@PenguinLTZ can you do some data logging for me? I need to know your idle and WOT readings for the MAF... I might have found my culprit, lol

Please and thank you :)

After cleaning, idle was 22g/s... I tried the one from the work truck, and dirty, I was getting 33 at idle...

WOT mine tops out at 422g/s, the work truck hits 433...

And while the work trucks sensor reads higher numbers... It smokes even more, lol.

So I have a new sensor on order, lol. No K&N filters will ever be on anything I own.

My tuner tells me I should be in the 450 - 480 range at WOT

So after a few months of mixed driving, I have gained a 3 MPG average

Doing a full oil change, trans fluid, fuel filters, etc as we are headed to Montana for 2 weeks with a FULL load in the 5th wheel. I will have to scale it this time. See how she does going up the Rockies

I know this is the diesel ramblings thread but got a question.

Since so many take all the emissions stuff off their brand new diesel trucks once they get them. What happens when one that wants to upgrade to a newer truck takes it in for a trade? Can the dealer refuse to take it as a trade until you put it all back to factory emissions? I would think that they couldn't legally sell it unless all the emissions were in place, but I could be wrong.

I have been reading up more on states or at least cities outlawing "rolling coal". With that how long will it be before they start to really enforce emissions on diesels. Look what happened to VW.

Just food for thought and wanted to see what everyone else thinks.

I kept everything. I have the stock tune, ready to put back in. Honestly, if I went to sell mine 100K from now, I would feel better about the truck, not having EGR flowing into the cylinders for 100K, and my tune is mild. I don't roll coal, I can't! It gets a mild puff of black if I am at the low end, and mash it enough for a 1 second lag. I can tap the brake and spool it instantly to avoid smoke altogether. Yeah, the coal rolling guys are making all of this way too noticeable.

As for the legality, you are absolutely correct. We had to check all 07 and newer trucks before reselling them, to ensure federally mandated emissions were in place. Pickups would be no different

That is what I thought. I would guess that if you traded and they didn't check you got lucky.

I know a few have taken all the emissions off their Cruze diesel and didn't keep anything. Not sure if that was a wise move. On a side note they are claiming 60+mpg now and better performance. Which is a given if you ask me. I might take mine off once the warranty runs out.

If I could have waited, I would have. Since I got my work truck I couldn't drive enough to keep it out of regen. It was horrible.

The inside of my turbo.... Dirty dirty.

The picture of my hot side pipe didn't turn out well... But it doesn't look that great either...
