ok well same applies.. they are fun programmers but they can breack stuff fast.. dont be afraid of a higher tune. the 5r110 in a stout trans (i put 530 RWHP through mine for a good 7 months ill it died) and that was me jacking line pressure up being a dumb ass. it is a fine line with electronic transmissions and you wont hurt it on a med tune just to see what it feels like. probably smart to keep it lower though..
Yeah, I'm thinking of running this one until Christmas time, once I get some christmas money I may switch it out for a SCT tuner. :dunno: From what I have read everyone swears by them. I really have no clue what has been done to my truck, since I bought it with 192,000 miles on it. I wish I knew but I don't want to take the chance of having to replace the studs or anything right now because I don't have the extra cash. I really just got this Edge to see if my fuel economy would go up at all.

It will if you keep your foot out of it. Plus opening the exhaust will help keep temps down. I honestly would remove the Cat but leave the muffler. It restricts the most and the turbo gets annoying after awhile. You probably won't need studs if you don't beat it. I went tuned with no studs for 15 months. I drag raced it and generally beat on it and no problems. The custom tunes or high hp tunes get you in trouble. Don't tow with a tune in either.

Thanks for the info. Like I said I didn't get it to beat the shit out of just for economy.

I do know that diesels love to breath. When I went from a 1.5" exhaust on my 91 Jetta TD to a 2.5" from the turbo back with a two chamber flowmaster muffler. My EGT's went down and my boost went from max of 8psi to 12psi. Turbo spun up faster as well. So the best bang for you buck to me is to open up the exhaust.

Well I ran my first tank of fuel threw the truck with the tuner set to economy. I went from 14.4 mpg's to 15.5 mpg's. I have had my foot in it as well, I need to learn to control it better, so I would say this thing is working so far.
