Can I ask, why are you putting so much work into the tire side of the wheel? The outside of the wheel could clean up pretty nicely, but I guess I don't get the point of working on the wheel where you are.:dunno:

I'm just cleaning it up before it eats its way all the way through.

I'm working on the inside where the tire doesn't go now. Its soaking in oven cleaner.

All you need to do is shoot a coat of rust neutralizer or paint on there and your done.

Focus on cleaning the outside:thumbs:

ok, I'll probably use that por15 as mentioned earlier and use it on the whole rim in and out after polishing it. Or mothers wax just for the outside after polishing.

not my truck, but you cant just take rust off off chrome, its rust, the finish is gone....

all your doing is scratching the metal to bare steel and that is why it is a little shiny, the only way to make them look halfway decent is to have then sand or media blasted and painted or powder coated.

again its not my truck but i would never run a rusty set of rims like that since in the first rain storm or snow storm there going to look worse than when you started
