So with the help of my friend, and my Dad, the back half of the frame is now completely stripped. There's about an hour more prep work that needs to be done (half of which is letting the stuff "soak" into the metal), then it's getting painted. Two coats, 3-5 hours between coats. Hopefully I'll have enough paint.

I'll let it dry on Monday, and that night the bed goes on.

I also need a new diff cover. Somehow, mine is leaking from the center of the cover. There's a crack in the paint, not sure if that goes all the way through, and is the source of the leak, but it sure looks to be. Umberto should be hooking me up with a cover, though.

Nothing a couple of cans of Brake Kleen won't get rid of.

Last night we cleaned everything with mineral spirits, then twice with the POR15 cleaner "Marine Clean". I think the mineral spirits got rid of pretty much everything.

So today, I started off with the metal prep, and it looked like this:

Then paint!

Still got another coat to go, in 3-5 hours. Oh, and don't wash your face with lacquer thinner, it burns like F*CK.

And who knows when the front half of the frame will be painted... :uhoh:

Well... I don't really give a crap about the axle, and I can just clean off the leaf springs. I'm happy with how it looks, as long as it holds up. Absolute worst case scenario, is I need to find a new frame in a few years.
