No, it takes two gallons.

Spec actually calls for 8.5 quarts , but it showed full after the 8.

I don't know why, but Direct Injection engines seems to require more oil than regular FI cars. My S4's engine was only 3.0L but it took 7 freakin quarts of oil too.

But yeah...needless to say I'm glad I don't commute any more. That oil change hurts the wallet, but it will only be once a year now.

Actually there is a TSB out that states the oil level is adjusted to 8qts from 8.5 on the trucks. The large oil sump I feel has to do with the ability to help combat fuel dilution, something that DI engines are known for.

Thanks for the info...worked out well that it looked full to me anyway.

As far as the fuel dilution, hadn't thought of that...will definitely be conservative with my change interval if that's the case!
