OK guys my sons friend has this 1995 Ford Lightning and he ran into a car and it messed up his front bumper & grill so they replaced them with chrome ones well he works at a Kobota tractor place and he bought some tractor black paint and he painted the chrome parts black and they came out good.

I'm going to get the name of the paint because he didn't even strip them before he painted them and that black paint looks different than regular Krylon paint.
Be good! GMC :)

you will have to scratch the chrome for adhesion. Otherwise the paint will come off.

Paint on slick chrome will eventually flake or peel. Nothing for the paint to adhere to. You don't have to strip off the chrome, but you have to sand the surface to get the paint to stick long term

Update us in about 3 months when it starts flaking.

I'd sandblast it then paint it.

x2, sand bast the hell out of it, etching primer, adhesion ( Por 15 is really good, Bulldog is also ), paint, clear, and go the extra mile and 3M it.

His friend had church like all day yesterday so when he brings it over I will let you guys know whats the name of it. And I would have sanded it down some before applying the paint but he didn't but he swears that it's on the for good. I say the same in three months it will start to peel but then he will probably touch it up.

I give him until the first rock chip when following someone. Then all it has to do is rain, get moisture behind it, and it will be snowing paint.
