First of all I want to thank you for the link to awesome WEB site for parts. Second for so nice to show me way to get familiar with the subject and how to fix it. Now is the time to lay down under my state of the art "Like a Rock" truck and try to find out where those part are hidden. Marry Christmas to all of you.
P.S.
Maybe some of you guys go across WEB site like AutoZone has in the store with picture of the section of the engine and location of the part on which end of the car/truck part goes?:D

I have a 06 silverado extended cab short bed 5.3 and the check engine light is on i took it to auto zone and orielly and the code P0449 shows in the scanner and it says that there is a vapor leak in the Emission System i changed the Purge Solenoid, the Canister Solenoid and the Filter Box, i also checked the wiring and everything seems to be good i also checked the current and it is good i ran it for about 35 mins after that to see if the computer would turn off the engine light but it wouldn't it shut turned off then when i turned the truck back on later on in the day the light turned back on what else could be the problem I'm i missing something to check for?

Try resetting the code by pulling the negative battery cable off for a couple of minutes.

no i havn't tried that yet just because i don't own one do you think that if i buy a scanner and clear the code the engine light will come off i thought that the engine light would come off by itself when the repairs were done?

Nope. It's logged. Take off the negative cable for a minute as Bigred suggested.

See if Autozone will clear it for you with the scan tool. Tell them you bought the parts there :D2 If it comes back, you have more work to do.
