P0449-How To Replace Evap. Vent Solenoid

I am owner of 2003 Silverado Z71 5.3 L and looks like I am only one left who own this kind truck. I am in search for how to fix up P0449 error and any time I end up with 2004 or 2005 or 2006 Silverado model. Any one has info for P0449 error for Silverado 2003 Z71 5.3L?

Turned out my truck had the rerouted vent line already done. I just had to replace the solenoid. Took 5 mins. All is better... Finally finished off the checklist for my truck. Alignment, tires, evap valve, reprogrammed seat heaters.... All is well with it now.

I have been reading about this P0449 error for about 3 months and getting bananas. It is so many parts number for the same part, everywhere. But none of them said it is compatible with your vehicle, maybe but who knows. I try separating this kit by singular parts, but dealer won’t give you parts number just for solenoid alone. And even so they will charge me for whole kit $197.00 plus tax. They also telling me I have to use OEM parts and defiantly not from second hand, have to be original from GMC. Any one knows how I can check this solenoid if is OK before I will purchase new one, and what make this solenoid go bad in the first place so when I install new one will not blow up right the way?

The reason it goes bad is that vent is too short and it gets dirt in the valve/ solenoid. The kit relocates the outside air vent so it wont get dirt in it. The new impalas have the same problem.

That is wired when I search on ACDelco web site tells me error no part find it, but is there. Anyway thank you. would you also tell me where this part goes... I fill like a moron but I am not a mechanic
