I don't think any of the big companies are building these anymore, I know Maggie isn't- so I understand you buying used. Just would hate to see anyone buy something and the seller being untruthful about the nitty gritty.

I don't want to get stuck with a "lemon" either. I'm looking for mostly complete kits. The only thing I don't care about is the Whipple electronics setup as I won't be using it anyways. If it looks dirty, used and abused, I'll pass. I've seen a couple on Craig's List that are that way. They are cheap, incomplete, and the paint is flaking off. Definitely standing clear of those.

EDIT:

I just sent the seller this message....
Is there another pulley that mounts to the support bracket? There should be two pulleys on it and I only see one. When you went through the parts list in the manual, what all was missing? You said the kit was complete minus the belt and some possible hardware, but then say that all the wire harness and hardware are complete. Are there extra injectors on the bonnet/elbow that mounts in place of the factory throttle body to the intake manifold? Any chance in getting more pictures? I know that's a lot to ask, but I want to know as much as possible before bidding. Thank you, Matt

Still haven't heard from the seller of THIS ONE on eBay. It's ending this evening. I'm watching it and will probably bid on it as long as I can get it for the right price.

Anyways, I'm kinda wondering if anyone is located in or near Los Angeles? I've found THIS ONE (another post from the same guy) that is also a good price, but I'm not gonna trust the seller that I don't know with the money and shipping. I'd rather trust a fellow TMC member. :tmc: This one looks to be very complete, but I don't know what that stainless line is for in the second pic of the first link.

I would start a thread for the one in L.A asking for members in the area. Might get better luck finding someone

Yeah, I might need to get on that. I'll have to figure out where to put it though.

That's what I was thinking......but it turns out that one might not be for a 350 (the L31 motor). The ad only states that it is for 96-00 engines, but those are also the years that the Vortec 454 was not TBI. I'm betting the guy can't sell it so easily because it is the larger Whipple for the 454 and not the 350. I'm still working on figuring it out.

This is from the LA ad.

Notice the difference in the pulleys on the mounting bracket.

Well, I put in a bid. We'll see how long it takes to get outbid. :ohnoes: I'm not a big fan of auctions. All the bidding happens in the last hour. Hopefully I can check it at work. :fingersx:
