Seems like it'd render a lot of your truck useless. I mean, the drawers are handy and all, and I suppose the idea is that you could still haul plywood or drywall on top of the deck?
I guess for a lot of cases it'd be handy. Certainly better than tossing all that crap loose in your bed

Seriously, I think the load rating is sufficient for most things AverageJoeHomeowner might haul in half ton. I immediately envisioned throwing my GM bedmat on it, and with a good set of tie-downs, I think you could rule the day.
Just my humble opinion. I am always looking for creative ways to get shit to point B. I have previously utilized some less than ideal methods
