the MJ has been sidelined because of a sudden burst of progress on the XJ. however, i just picked up a higher amperage alternator and brand new battery, so the Indian should crank some time this weekend, and then i can figure out which cylinder is misfiring.

also? it's doing a u-turn from the initial plans. i'm going to lower it two inches, make it 2wd/5spd, throw some 16/17s on it with g-forces and autocross/rally it

the alternator pigtails cannot be bought except through a dealer. So says Autozone, Adv. Auto, CarQuest, and every little mom n poip store in a 20 mile radius. The dealers tell me that parts for a "non-Chrysler vehicle" cannot be bought at a Chrysler deal. Fawk you, non-Chrysler vehicle bullshit- i've bought WILLYS parts from them.

Junkyard, here i come. Also need a new alternator and praying to find a SOA D44 rear axle in there somewhere... dont care about gears matchin right now, i can worry about that later.

lol those liars! I bought the pigtails from Advanced because they had an extra set for the Chevy they use to check them. I paid the kid 10bucks but it was an under the table sort of thing. And I thought boondoggle ment waste of money? I say that because I just wrote a paper and used it that way lol.

well, i Mickey Moused an alternator pigtail, replaced the battery, and she cranked! started and ran for about two minutes until i shut it off. the alternator is shot, but my buddy has one he says he'll give me fo fwee from his old XJ. we'll see how that goes tomorrow
