If you go with a Flex or PC, you could get your pads from Adam's. They have every pad you would need for either machine. The 10% TMC coupon code would go well with that. :D

 I know I could, I just like to look, touch, and feel, and get stuff like that NOW

I assumed Oregon. :D

If I lived closer, I would do it.

Unless you really really know what you're doing I would stay away from a rotary. Burned paint and holograms (shouldn't be too bad with white) are the major reason. Most professional detailers use a DA polisher for the final step to remove any holograms they put in with the rotary while correcting paint. I have a Porter Cable 7424 and it is a good unit but it has it's drawbacks compared to some of the other newer DA polishers.

Biggest drawback is the motor really isn't that powerful, if you want to do major paint correction getting rid of swirls and scratches the biggest pad you can really run is a 5.5" once you get into the 6.5" it just doesn't have the balls to move the pad enough to cut anything. I love mine and will be using it for a few spring details this year, I will post some results.

I see the newer model is supposed to be more powerful, and there is an adapter to run the 5/8" mount pads. I don't want to do it though, if it wont turn the bigger pads.

The easiest/cheapest way you could go is to purchase a kit from an online detailing store. If you buy everything separate you're going to end up spending way too much.

The 7424 can get the job done. In my recent detail I used it with Adam's 6.5" pads. It did it, but the job could have been completed much quicker with a different unit (ie-Flex). Like Ian said, its motor really isn't as powerful as it should be.

DeWalt has a DA/Orbital coming out next week! I tried to buy it last night online but they didn't have it in stock yet.

I am going to take your advice and get an Orbital. I just want it to be the last one I buy. Hell my 6" Craftsman has been serving me well

I need to get the Tahoe done, it is bad.

If I can't snag that new DeWalt, I will just get the Flex from Faze. Hoping he will cut me the same deal he had last month with the 4th pad/polish.

Keep us updated! New toys are awesome, especially when they are detailing toys. It's worth a few hundred to keep these expensive trucks in great shape.
