Actually, that parking brake thing might be feasible. Have you checked to see if the light comes on, on the dash, when you set the parking brake? That might tell you whether or not there's a problem with the switch on the parking brake.. :dunno:

No, never checked that yet. But I guess I will.

ehhh, it'd be a quick check and might prevent a lot of troubleshooting of other things that may not be at fault.. :dunno:

If that's "it" then he owes me a Mountain Dew. :)

He'll owe us both, since I offered up a way to test it.. :D2

Ok, I just went and checked the parking brake. The red brake light on the dash came on, but it was blinking instead of stead lit. I can't remember if it's normally sposed to be steady lit or not? :dunno: T, go check yours real quick and see if its steady or if it blinks. I also had the engine running if that makes a difference. :dunno:

Chock the wheels and put it in neutral, that should make the DRL's come on :dunno:

I think your PB light is supposed to be steady on, unless you put it in gear... But I could be wrong on that.

I kinda thought so, but I can't remember whether its supposed to blink or be steady lit. I haven't used it in so long. I need somebody else with a 99-02 GMT800 to check their's and see what it does.

If the light is blinking I think you may have an ABS problem.

But it only blinks when the parking brake is applied, not all the time. My FIL has a 99 Silverado and his ABS is messed up. He has a red light on all the time that says "ABS". :dunno: He got a few quotes to get it repired and the cheapes place wanted right at $1100 to fix it, so he said he leaving it as is.

Have you considered taping a flashlight to the hood?

It could be a soft code, wouldn't hurt to have it scanned.
