Where is your DRL sensor located? Could it be an issue there?
As far as I know, they are controlled by the ambient Light sensor on the top of the dash. That sensor also tell the Headlights to come one when it senses no light. I had a problem with that last summer, my headlights were coming on every time I started the truck, even in bright sunny daylight. I replaced the ambient light sensor and not only did my headlights start working fine again, but the DRL's came on during the day, as they weren't on when the headlights were coming on. My headlights still funcion as normal so I would assume the light sensor is till working fine.
