So I noticed that my DRL's aren't working. Not sure how long they been like that since I'm usually behind the wheel and not looking at the front of my truck when its running. I checked the fuse, the relay and the bulbs, all are good. I did check them in drive with the parking brake OFF (since I already know the parking brake being on bypasses the DRL's). Any ideas what else I should look for? :dunno:
Any for those who don't know, I have a 2001 Suburban 1500 .

POSITIVE the bulbs are good? That's the most common failure.

I swapped them with my turn signal/parking bulbs, and they came on. I also visually inspected them and the filaments don't appear to be broken. :dunno: They are Silvania Silverstar 3157's .

Man, I wish mine would "quit working" .. well, just as long as the brights kept working. I've been catching hell for "wanting" to disable the DRL's on the fWONkin' Subaru........

F'rs on the Subie sites just don't seem to understand yet that I'm not going to "only" do the mods to MY car that THEY all do to their fanboi cars......... :nonod:

Does your Burb have a DRL relay? :dunno:

Yes, its in the underhood fuse panel, along with the DRL fuse.(which is good) The relay is identical to the horn relay so I swapped the two and the horn works with that relay so I'm guessing the relay is good. :dunno:

Probably a stupid question....but do you have a button that you can push to turn them off?
On my 2006, I can turn them off by turning the light switch to the LEFT.

just asking..........

I realize you are a pretty good 12V guy but I had to ask.

I have not Idea of your abilities so dont take this wrong. How are you checking the Fuse? Visually or with a test light? If you have Power at the fuse and the relay has tested good then I would check the sockets. if you still dont have power at the socket check the wires going IN to the socket. Make sure you check BOTH positive and ground. If you still dont have power then i would start looking for the DRL Module. I good wiring diagram would be well worth having. Might I suggest. www.alldatadiy.com It cost about 20 bux a year but is is IMO well worth it.
