Full manual valve body is a must. So much more fun to drive!

yeah my buddies camaro had a full manual valve body in it.. mine shifts very hard just shifts when it wants to.... lol. If you tell in the video you can see it jerk when it shifts

What shifter do you have?

hurst promatic

Are you not able to manually shift with it? You should be able to pull it into 1st and keep it there until you shift:dunno:

I did have it pulled all the way into low gear.. it just shifts after about 4 thousand or so.. its weird.. sometimes i can run to 6500 then itll shift.. other times it shifts so damn early.. i just need to go full manual. im not too familiar with turbo 400's..

Has it always been this way? Who built your transmission and does it have a shift kit?

You may have a vacuum modulator issue or just need a govenor adjustment kit

To be honest with you, this is the first real street time ive had with this truck.. havent driven it much at all.. transmission came with the truck , so i dont know its history.. and shift kit i have no idea.. it shifts very firm tho.

I doubt they were factory on a 1/2 ton sportside. probably dealer installed.

well how every they were... the holes in the roof under the lights are like factory.. nice curled smooth holes... looks like it was made that way. idk. i have them smoked out... so they are closed to invis.. lol.
