i got my initials on mine.

The main thing is an identifying mark. It really doesn't matter what it is.

All of my equipment and tools have either my initials or the # 29 engraved on them.

I don't mark any of mine, but I do let it be generally known that I sometimes scratch my hemorrhoids with them. Most people don't get within six feet of them now.

I engrave my brand on mine. You can also dip (or partially dip) them in a random color paint (as long as they are all the same).
