More mods to the new truck have been completed over the last week:

Some Weathertech mudguards and floor mats:

I'm still gonna need flares, especially when I get the 35 x 11.50's on the black beast.

Got the light bar mounted and the PIAA LED's wired in:

Now I can get the truck box back in!

Got the stock muffler and resonator removed, put in a Magnaflow 12999 SI/SO muffler on it. Left the resonator off and made up the rest of the length with some pipe and a simple turn down:

There just ain't enuff room to do a SI/DO with two sets of pipe to the rear due to the huge plastic fuel tank on the driver's side plus the rear self leveling air bag suspension and plumbing on the same side. So we re-used the stock tail pipe from the muffler back up and over the axle tube on the passenger side and called it good.

It does sound good! Just a slight hint of drone at 1750 - 1850 RPM in MDS (4 cylinder) mode which ain't no big deal as MDS is gonna go away soon.

My HID low beams and foglight kit showed up in the mail this afternoon so I guess I know what I'll be doing next weekend. :D

Well, there's trouble right here in River City...

When I purchased my 2014 Big Horn CC last month I noted that the engine makes one heck of a loud clattering sound on cold start up.

Honest, it makes me turn around a look for the old 5.9L 24V Cummins emblems!

The noise, which sounds like a maniac smacking each and every lifter with a steel hammer doesn't entirely go away after the engine is warm either. This is much more than "HEMI Tick".

So, I dropped it off with the dealer Thursday night and they were supposed to start it up Friday and listen, diagnose and let me know what they find.

Friday they called me to say that there was a problem and they were going to start tearing down the engine.

Based on the noise, I'd guessin' a lifter, valve guide or valve spring problem.

More later...
