I want to find an antennae for my CB that is small and can be out of sight and still get good range. I want to get rid of my current one. It's suppose to be one of the best you can buy but its too tall and it's kind of an eye sore.

What is your current antenna? You probably won't be finding anything as good that is "lo profile" as far as reception becuase it isn't in the open to send and recieve. I'm not too sure if there are powered antenna's available for CB's like there are for am/fm radios but I'm sure they would be pretty expensive. Also I would stay away from the "through the glass" antenna's if you didn't already know that.

I'm sure someone will correct me on this, but I have never heard of a "low profile" CB antenna with good range.. You need length (up to a point, at least) and exposure, without anything in the way of the signal it's trying to receive or send. :dunno:

Good luck!

Remember... CB reception is (more or less)..."LINE OF SIGHT"...with some scattering and propagation thrown in.
The smaller the antenna and the more it is "OUT OF SIGHT" the worse your talking to anyone will be...

You are correct. Also depending where you mount the antenna you will have to clear the metal interference near by

You could just use a removeable magnet base or get a ball type mount that can be adjusted down or up... :)
