I am in the market for an 18V impact but I would like to get some information first. I used a Snap on impact recently and I was impressed. That thing spun some nuts that had been rusted on for a few decades. However, I do not have Snap On money. All my cordless tools are Dewalt so I figured I would get their 18V impact. The big box store has them for $149 with out the batter and charger. I am fine with that because I already have several of each. Any one have any thoughts or comments in this area. $149 is still a lot of money for me so I would like to get more information before to drop it. Oh, before any one says it, I know there is a reason the Snap On impact is so much more.

I've got a Makita impact driver that I really like and have used quite a bit lately changing all the door knobs and hinges in the house. Had no issues running some long wood screws into the door frame for dead bolts.

The DeWalt works great I have a couple of them. If you already have the battery and charger go for it

I did not think of those brands.

I should just stay comitted to dewalt but I want to make sure it can do the job. I go out to where trucks have been sitting for years to pull parts.

Make sure you get Lithium Ion batteries.
