The new Rams with the 8 speed get better FE than the GMs do.
My "new" Ram is a 2008, despite having cylinder deactivation and trying to drive with a light foot, I average around 13mpg, of mid-grade. The Chevy was an '05 w/5.3 and got closer to 16 on regular.

So you're saying I should upgrade :D

Maybe once the kid is out of college I'll have money again and I can buy nice things.:rollin:

All of a sudden, 11.5 mpg in my '99 doesn't sound too bad, considering the size and weight of it. Of course, it's a diesel, so I'm already paying about 40 cents a gallon more than regular. :(

It won't be long and Ram will be outselling GM in the light truck market.
Ram has their work cut out for them, then!

Gm sold the most half tons in June selling 300k trucks, Ford sold 250k and Ram sold around 80k trucks.

More accurately, they might outsell Chevy in the heavy duty market. Its a darn shame there wasn't a drive train upgrade for the Duramax in 2015.

With the new Ford having 440 freackin HP and who knows how much torque. The Duramax used to lead heavy duty truck performance and now they are at the bottom.

IMO, you definitely won't survive if you let your competitors come out with upgraded engines and you are sitting duck with the same old, same old.

We won't talk about the FE my truck gets.

These are trucks people, FE isn't part of the equation. You want FE buy a moped! :jester:

OK, but will a moped tow my boat? Yeah, I didn't think so.

FE is a huge selling point.

Hence why Ram is gaining market share while GM is losing it.

Once again, GM is following instead of leading. They are just now coming out with their 8 spd while Ram and Ford are about to come out with their 10 spds.

Well...given that GM STILL hasn't figure out how to make a 6 speed shift right yet, maybe they should still slow down on the 8 speed ;)

The 6sp in our Acadia shifts fine, well once Justin from Black Bear Performance tuned the transmission. :)

That's what I was going to say. Anything with more than 4 gears I've driven drove like shit.

That may not be a truck, but I would bet you my last dime it would not have had even a fraction of the issues I have had.

If Honda made a real truck, I would buy one in a heartbeat.
THIS.
