damn work always getting in the way of truck stuff. hoping to get it offloaded tonight or tomorrow morning and then i can decide what i want to do once i get it torn down.

my plan was to steal the heads and have them machined/rebuilt and install them on my current motor when doing head studs. that and sell parts off it to fund that and maybe bigger injectors.

BUT....... i might change my mind once i see what the 04 motor needs and could end up doing a full build cost allowing.

if there is nothing wrong with the 04, build the shiz out of it and slap it in your truck, and save the old one so when you blow it up you have a spare

now this gets confusing. lets refer to my truck motor as the 03 motor and the one in the bed as the 04 motor.

your saying build the shit out of the 04 motor and put it in? or do studs to the 03 motor and then work on building the 04 as the spare?

id like to do that dave but thats gonna be quite a chunk of change there. i could probably get by with enough to maybe put in some 155cc injectors with some of the parts off the 04 and then build it up over time

There really is no diff between 03-04 engines. 05 was redesigned but mainly to the egr/emission equipment. You know this I know, just wanted to seem smart.

haha i know. the only issue im gonna run into on this one is the different oil rails from 03-04.5 and 04.5+ the 04 motor in the bed has a different oil rail system in the heads and the icp sensor on the valve cover. it does have a plug on the hpop cover where my icp sensor is though. im talking with the guy that has the shop it will be staying at and hes confident we can make some thing work. either way i know i can get 85 bucks a piece for the injector cores and still have a core hpop and core turbo so i should break even fairly quick.

dave you should find you an 03 turbo

All this diesel talk has me looking on craigslist... I still like the 06-07 Body style but getting into one of those being accustomed to the 07-2010 trucks it will be hard... At least I know the newer trucks have the power to keep me content until the mods begin.

haha i know you did. i might be persuaded to hook you up for the cost to ship it since itd need going through at 177K haha. im gonna sell the 04 turbo as a core cuz thats all its good for and i have no use for a quiet one like that
