Have you looked REAL GOOD on the intake?

Lots of time the firing order is stamped on the intake. :dunno:

Thats it jim. But googled someone mentioned timing on then #8.

I reckon thats possible...using #8...but I have never heard of that. :dunno:

But, International has done some strange things in the past.

Looks like it might be time to call the local International Dealer, or go by there and maybe ask a question or two.

Sorry I couldn't be any more help.
I haven't owned an International in 30 years.

Same firing order as Chevrolet too, but they sure don't do something stupid like time off of #8. :lame:

That could have been anybody. Whichever company finished the truck. I am sure that was originally sold as an unfinished cab and chassis truck. There maybe some labels somewhere in the truck as to what was done and who finished it. But, back then, it may not have been required, and if not stamped, its probably not legible now.

I found out you time on the #8 cylinder.
I seemed to remember there was something really strange about the one I did. Couldn't remember what the deal was though. Hopefully I never have to use that info. Thanks for posting it though, always fun to jog the gray matter.

I had to stop and think, WTH would they do something so stupid for?. But, I guess the reason could be where the timing tab should fall. If the timing tab falls straight up, say under the water pump, using #1, then it would not be very functional using a timing light. So they moved on #2 of the firing order which is Cyl #8. That would be the only reason I could think of to do something so stupid? Anyone else got any ideas?
