Ain't that ^ a fact !

On a more productive note, got the A/C's unit water drain hose installed though the firewall and pad .. Also the master electric disconnect switch is loaded onto the wall ..





What looks like a small job to do, took half the day ...

That switch was on the truck when I got it ...
Works great, since I've grown accustom to using it, decided to keep it on line ..

Getting the ductwork figured out ...



This is the defroster, reason why I choose to do a Y connection to feed air to both defroster vents is on the unit ..
When I ordered the A/C from "Old Air" I had a choice of having the defrost outlets coming out of the top of the box ...



As can be seen in the above photo ..
Two outlets, one for driver side vent and passenger side vent ..
If I had went with this unit, it would need to be mounted lower on the firewall due to needing room for the hoses ..
Passenger leg room would suffer ..



This unit's defrost outlet come out of the side allowing the unit to be mounted higher up on the firewall in turn netting more leg room, but it's only one outlet hence the need to do the Y hose connector ...

Getting a bit busy behind the dash ..



Those two outlets in the center of the unit will be going to the dash Pod's center vent ..

Got a new look here ..

The custom lower column mount worked out nice ..
Next on the to do list is to install the column ..
The lower mount is going to be a bit of work, a patch will be made to weld in where the old column went though the wall ..
Wanting to keep as much of the pad intact as permitted ..
We'll see how that works out ??

Wanting to drop all the wiring that needs to go though the wall in one hole ..
( Sure do have a lot of wires to pass though the wall )

Billet ECU Wire Pass Through (WI-001)​

An attractive cover with machined grooves to dress up where wire bundles pass through the firewall. This wire pass through was designed with large Fuel Injection harnesses in mind. The pass through comes with a fitted grommet with a 1″ precut split top hole for ease of installation and can be trimmed. The grommet can be opened up to a maximum of 1 5/8″ and has relief cuts to assist with trimming. The design of the pass through allows this piece to be added onto a completed vehicle with minimum effort.
Overall dimensions are 4 5/8″ tall x 2 1/4″ wide x 11/32″ deep on top and 2 1/8″ deep on bottom.
Inside dimensions are 3 3/4″ tall x 1 3/4″ wide x 5/8″ deep on top and 1 15/16″ deep on bottom.

A few more holes to fill ..

Chrome shop sent back the needed parts ...
Sure would loved to had seen some of their top quality work on them, but life has a way of throwing a curve ball at ya ..

Going to install the bezel as is for now, do hope to find a better one later on ..



Since I was needing the glass lens for it decided to get trick with it ..
The original gauges that IH used has convex lens ...



The two smaller gauges (Tach & Vacuum) that I added to the dash had flat lens, I found a clock company that makes convex lens in the size I'm needing for those two ..



Be a better look to have all the gauges sporting the same lens ...



Also got back a switch nut (Bezel) that was sent to be plated.
Bought this from a Fellow out west and had him ship it to the platers ..



He sent photos of it to me, looked really good but being 70 years old needed fresh chrome on it, all the other switch bezes had been chromed years back and still looks like new money .. Wanted all to be matching too ...



Age was showing on the critter ... I did a light buff and found good chrome under the crud, not show chrome like what the others have, but dang close ...

Will put it to use on the headlight switch being it's off to the side and not in the center group of knobs ...
