Must shoot the base coat over ..
Found a few boogers in my prep work ..
Could have went ahead and printed over those spots but wanting to have it looking the best, you known how it is ..

I didn't have enough paint left to do another coat, it's on order from the company ...

Got a lot of other parts that I'm waiting on too, some are for the steering column and wiring harness components ..

I was just wondering. I'm just impressed with the work you've done on this build.

Thanks ...

The effort is there, not all that sure about the skill .. ??
Will continue to chip away at it ..

Doing a fit on the firewall pad shows the holes that's on the wall to be filled with weld, some holes will be needed to be cut into the pad for what I have going on ...

Waiting on the column's lower firewall mount to show up, does look like the factory firewall cutout for the stock column will be needing to be patched ...
Won't know what can of worms that will be until the mount is in my greasy hands ..

Starting from 0 miles ... Again ..

Rolled them back to 0 when I did the body swap ..
That was like 30+ years ago .. Being I'm going from bumper to bumper with doing a makeover, figured what the hay !

I was in the neighborhood anyways ...

Dash has a lot of shiny stuff on it, what's one more .. ?

This will come in handy as tits on a milk cow for long road trips ...

Well .... It's brown again .. !

This time around it's looking really good, a few days of cure time and will be time to lay down the grain ..

You'll stick around to see if I screwup that job .. ??

This be the wood graining kit ..
The graining plate is a very close match to the grain pattern that's on the Caddy's horn button ..

They had about 30 different grain plates to choose from ..
Do think I did get real close to picking the right pattern ..

This is after the toner was applied ..
Made it just a tad darker ..

Was going to do the grain but not going to use the roller that came in the kit ..
Been in the shipping box that it came, was sitting on the top shelf in the shop's bathroom since it was shipped to me..

Dang thing had potholes in it ...

That would surely cause problems picking up the print ..
Called the company and told them what I found ..

They said "So sorry Charley" .. Got a 30 day return policy ..
Got to buy a new one ($200)
That's a kick in the ass for me, had to put this job on hold cause it's going to be awhile before I can afford to buy another roller ..

Don't have much of a shelf life to em ..

If I known their products had a very short shelf life I wouldn't had bought the kit ..

Wasn't aware of their 30 day return policy until this problem came up with the roller ...
With the roller deteriorating sitting on a shelf, guess you'd need to buy a new one for every job that came in the door ..

Not a Happy Camper ....

Thinking I should have went back to the og almond color, much less grief and expense involve ...

Way too deep into it now to redo, gotta bite the bullet and go forward with the wood graining ...

When it's done and over and looking like how I vision it would, I can say .. "Holy Crap what a freaken nightmare that was"

... ... Lol

It seems like sometimes, no matter how hard we try, life has a way of turning around and biting you in the ass.
