I picked up a Duralast Gold Top last winter from Autozone... Hasn't failed me yet

Gold Top- Duralast (850 Cold Cranking Amps) 1000 cranking Amps.. 8 yr warranty, 3 yr free replacement for $101 then extra $12 to get rid of my old battery

I've seen those in the store and heard that recommendation on other peoples threads. Do you have experience with that battery?

I bought one of those about a year ago. It works great! I started a thread on it asking questions just like you are doing here.

Ok, I just went and got the new battery. They actually changed the name of the Titanium batteries to "Gold" now. So I bought an Autocraft Gold with a 3 year free replacement warranty for 90 bucks. Heres what I got......

I replaced a napa that was in my truck with a duralast gold from auto zone, heard lots of praise online, and from some mechanic buddies. Plus they are pretty reasonable, and have a very good warranty

There are supposedly only 3 major battery manufacturers left in the US that make the huge number of different brands we see. In fact Johnson Controls is said to produce as much as 80% of the batteries sold in the US. Private labeling for Autozone, NAPA, etc is a big business.

Bottom line? The battery you are loyal to may be the same battery that you would not touch from another retailer... just a different color and with a different label.

Thanks Dave! I decided I will get the Autocraft Gold 850 with a CA of 1000 (same as the one Scotty has)

I can get it shipped for $80 right to my store

I think I'll do that
