I flash people when they have their brights on and are blinding me. If no one else does, that's their problem.

My Tahoe is not lifted, it's lowered, and my headlights are aimed properly.

I guess what it boils down to is that I just don't care given I have no one complaining. As such, I'm going to be leaving mine as they are. If someone made a decent looking replacement assembly, I'd do it in a second, but they don't. Everything out there looks like rice and I'm not hungry.

If a walking stick broke it's leg, a band-aid would probably work.

I don't flash people that put HIDs in reflectors because I know there's nothing they can do about it. Just cuz people don't flash you doesn't mean you aren't blinding them. With all the crazies out there it's not surprising people don't want to piss off a a guy in a big truck who doesn't care about other drivers anyways.

Usually people who put HID bulbs in reflectors don't have highs and lows (unless like with the quads you have totally separate housings and bulbs for highs). On back roads when I can tell someone just forgot to turn their high beams off, yes, I'll give them a quick flash, but that's different than someone who's low beams are just as bad.

I'll also flash people when there's a speed trap coming up, just cuz I'm so nice.

And that'll help. *edited to add* Actually when thinking about it... the lower the headlight is to the ground, the higher up it will have to be aimed to send enough light down the road. If you were lifted, you could aim the lights down more, and still have light hitting the road far enough to see.

What are they gonna do, turn their headlights off every time they pass a car? I highly doubt they'd go home and take out the HIDs. If they cared that much they wouldn't have installed them like that in the first place.

You are the one who suggested having a lifted truck kept people from getting flashed because they are scared of the big bad truck owner. I was simply stating I was lowered so they shouldn't have a problem flashing me.

As for having some custom made for a 12-year-old Tahoe, No. I'm good with what I'm working with. Again, when Johnny Law pulls me over or I get feedback from other drivers that I'm causing issues, I'll reevaluate. Until then, if you see me coming, just cover your eyes.

Agreed. I have no intention of fucking with other people so if they let me know, I'll deal with it accordingly. I hate interfering with people on the road because I also hate them interfering with me. If I honestly believed my HID's were causing problems, I'd fix the situation.

Fortunately, Steve doesn't drive every car that I pass.

HIDs are mainly a glare problem when installed in headlights that use a single dual filament bulb in the headlight housing. (Like Ford trucks and Honda Civics). Headlights that have a separate bulb and reflector for the highs and lows don't have NEARLY as much glare. While I will admit, my lights are FAR brighter than halogen bulbs, but I don't have near as much glare as most ricers. I have mine adjusted and have driven my wife's car before (at night) with her following me in my truck, and while my headlights are brighter than other vehicles, they are not blindingly bright. Honestly, they have no more glare than an Escalade equipped with factory HIDs.
