$28 a year, but then we pay property tax on vehicles. Can't remember what my trucks tax is at the moment.

Only city in Louisiana that charges property tax on a vehicle is New Orleans. They charge you depending on what make the vehicle is, not the value. Its a system that has been criticized for years yet remains the same. The owner of a 30k$ Mercedes will pay twice what the owner of a 80k$ Corvette pays, because the Chevy tax is cheaper. :dunno:

It's not heaven . . . it's Iowa!
I think ours is $65 per year, and I have an extra $5 for my plates.

They were talking to make the half ton trucks fees more like the cars (a % of the value) but in August, mine was still the same. :dunno:

$85 I think
You're close.

WI
(as a reference, a car/van/SUV is $75)
Class A (up to 4,500lbs) = $75/yr......compact truck (usually)
Class B (up to 6,000lbs) = $84/yr......1/2 ton (usually)
Class C (up to 8,000lbs) = $106/yr....3/4 ton (usually)
Then there's more that are based on the weight of the vehicle.
Collector = twice the annual fee plust $50; good for life
Custom = add $15 to the price each year

Here's all WI registration fees.

It use to be that Class A plates were cheaper than a car was. So people were putting Class A's on vans and SUV's to save money. Well, the DMV caught on to that :(.
