myth number 2. For example waukesha industrial engines will NOT warranty and engine that is being operated at less than 50% rated output. It causes exccesive oil to get pulled through the intake valves (due to the higher intake vacuum) which will cause premature failure of the cylinder head and possibly the cylinder.
So esentially its best for your engine to drive with the pedal on the floor.

I let mine warm up for a few minutes most days and a few more then normal on cold days. So 3-4 minutes most of the time and 5-10 on cold days. I am just starting to see the temp gauge move by that time. The transmission is the one I worry about more. I don't really get into the gas pedal till the tranny warms up a lil on the gauge.
I am thinking about getting an aftermarket oil warmer/heater... I didn't think about adding that feature when I bought my truck!

I usually let mine warm up if its been sitting outside in below freezing temps. I get to park mine in a 60 degree garage so it usually doesn't need a warm up.

its almost always hot here.. so i just let it run for a min or so. Now the prostreet on the other hand.... its gotta idle and get revved a bit to come up to temp.. it misses and runs like shiot til its warmed up!
