Frankly I would be scared of buying ANY Durango. They have absolutely horrible reliability records and their value plummets like no other SUV on earth.

You asked.

I WOULD ABSOLUTLY NEVER EVER BUY A REPAIRED VEHICLE. But thats just me, If I ever had a bit of a wreck with any one of my new vehicles and it was repaired under insurance, I would have it sold before it came out of the repair shop! Nothing is ever the same afterwards!

I see em at auction and they go CHEAP! The only actual experience I have with them is a neighbor on the corner near me who owned one for about 2 years. He had nothing but hell with it and finally traded it off on a Chevy Tahoe.

The 4.7 is an engine to be scared of. It (like the 2.7 and 3.7) is a time bomb. The ultra thin cylinder walls in it overheat, cook oil, and deform and fail with great regularity. Frankly, the online reviews of a Durango would be enough to scare me off of one.

I'd stay away.

I liked the original Durango the best, but it had its fair share of problems (mostly front-suspension). All the Durango's suck for gas mileage. I just haven't been very impressed with them after the original. This particular style just looks too much like a mini van that basically has a lift and 4wd.

Oh, and as with any other Chrysler product, the trans will go....early.

I use Edmunds to check out Vehicles I'm interested in, New or Used. The owner reviews are very informative.:D

I must add, I haven't heard a lot of good things about Durangos. Hopefully the 2011's are greatly improved. They sure look better:D
