If i have been playing around In the mud or something I usually give my truck a blast from the pressure washer but usually i just clean the windows and let the rain do the rest

I prefer hand washing. I try to wash every 2-3 weeks.:D

I use a brush that dispenses the soap (RainX; without wax). It works really good. I refill it 2 or 3 times.

After washing, I let it dry for an hour.

Then I polish it with NuFinish - after every wash, so like 10+ times a year. This stuff is really nice. The water beads up nice. Usually the truck will dry itself off if I'm going down the highway and it's not raining anymore. If I use it on my windshield, I don't have to use the wipers going down the highway.
The ONLY PROBLEM is it is A PAIN to get off BLACK PLASTIC!:dunno:

Truck looks awesome and like new. I can't help but take it out for a drive after washing and polishing it.

However, in the winter I am forced to use the Hand Held Coin Op. Then it is a race against the clock. I don't wax it at these because I have the polish on it from before the winter anyways so I can spend more time with the soapy brush they have.:(

Y'all are gonna hate me...

The '97 Dakota gets washed maybe 4-5 times a year, using the hose in the driveway. No special soap or rags, just whatever is at hand. Every six months it gets washed and a new coat of NuFinish applied. Seems to do the job since the truck is 13 years old and still looks almost new.

On the GMC though, that gets washed twice a year, whether it needs it or not, and that's done in the driveway with the hose and a sponge mop, since it's 10' tall. Every now and then I'll grab a rattle can of Rustoleum white and do touch ups on it. Come to think of it, the rear bumper could use a new coat...

I really do like the NuFinish though, and have for years. Why, I even got a raise once because of it.

I used to drive ambulances for a living, in NYC, both for the local volly and some private companies. Once, my boss assigned me a "new" rig as my personal rig (meaning it went home with me at night). It was actually a few years old, purchased from some other company, but had just been recertified, painted, and had the company name painted on the side. It was a slow day though, and my partner and I were assigned to a patrol area near Coney Island, so I stopped at an auto supply and bought some NuFinish and a roll of window tint for the back windows. Then we parked up on the Boardwalk, put the radio on the PA speakers and, while my partner caught some rays on the stretcher, I tinted the rear windows and polished the whole unit.

Got back to the shop late that night and the boss was waiting for us. He wanted to know how the rig was working. He walked over wearing one of those satin baseball jackets and went to lean against the side of the rig while he talked to me... and slid right off and landed on his ass in the parking lot. :D

He sat there for a moment, stunned, and asked what the hell I'd done to the rig. So I told him that between calls I waxed it and tinted the windows. He shook his head and told me to check my pay stub next week. Got a $1.50 an hour raise. :)
