So I`ve been having some issues with my HID`s in my superduty. They were sometimes not lighting up, or cutting out. (always both, not just one or the other) I figured it was a connection issue an checked everything out, but I cannot get it fixed, its very random, and very noticable at night! I was forced to take the system out and throw in the factory bulbs, in short the stockers suck in comparison. I`m interested in a zenon bulb to replace these stockers and be more reliable for me.

In the past I have ran hella optilux bulbs in many vehicles, and they have been very durable and are very bright (they are 100w/80w bulbs, and just a tad illegal:lol:)

But I`m worried if they will melt the wiring due to the higher wattage, i have a friend who said he tried Piaa`s and they melted the wiring in his 08` Superduty, and they are not as high of wattage....

Hella Does offer a standard Zenon 60w/55w IIRC and has a yellow one too, but I want to also hear from other bulb makers to their reliability and output. :)

DDM HIDs are hit and miss. Some people swear they are the best while others have constant problems with them. :dunno:

You should put some Philip Xtreme H13's in.. I put them in my truck about a month ago and they've been a BIG improvement over stock.

I've heard from a lot of people they are the best stock replacement. Also put in 9005's in the fog lights but yours probably can't handle those.

Kyle (thunderstruck) has Toshiba HIR bulbs. He took out his HID's and went to those.

I think Jeff (CarolinaBoy) has HIR's in his heads too... He might chime in here in a little while

My HID`s were DDMs, they were 100%trouble free for about 10 months, Along with the recent issue I was also getting alot of complaints about how they blinded the shit out of truck drivers, Which may be related to the lenses being so scratched and pitted, i picked up a lens restoration kit, and will try to get that done next week and do a write up about that aswell... :)
