That Advent is awesome. Just don't know about the brand. The name has been sold off several times. This is not the Advent from the 60s and 70s. I must go read up on them!

Good luck! I really hope you find good news, for the sake of a lot of folks!

No kidding. Get all the research done and give us your opinion. Save me some time later.

It really is a quality piece of work from an aesthetic standpoint. I can't speak to the interface and usability but my guess is it's at least better than GM's efforts.

Aesthetics is my main concern. Back in the day I was into custom systems but I've gotten away from that.

I would agree that it should be better than GM's. GM's is OK but it doesn't impress me.

Yeah my nav units just have a digital readout. I was laughing at the 60s style speedo.

I'm not scared, I just want everything to work. At the time some features were not available. I want Bluetooth as good as my GM and I wanted all the features of the reare seat entertainment system to work properly.

I'll talk to Matt about his some more and if you have specific questions about function or install I can get you a video or pics. I have only played with it a bit and I have talked to him over te blue tooth and I'm impressed.

I know it is set up for the rear seat entertainment option. His came with all the wiring for it but I don't know about the how it will interface.

One thing I have been extremely impressed with is te customer service. Matt has been dealing directly with the owner. He gets back with him immediately and walks him through what ever he needs. All updates can be done with a microSD card and a lot of the splash screens can be changed. Even to custom ones. So if you want a pic of your truck to load up when you turn it on you can do it.

Damn, reading off of this makes me wish they made a direct fit Advent for my 2001.
I am satisfied with my Kenwood DDX418 for now. I just wish the bluetooth worked better.

I really just want my backup camera integrated into the unit and some good sound quality. I don't care about other features. I'll use the module to keep my chimes.

Go with a rear view mirror with LCD screen for the camera and then just add your own amp, signal processor, etc.
