Talked with my exhaust guy today. He looked under my truck and the current setup is 2.00" pipe. He said I need to get that off there, it is way to small. He has talked me into going with a magnaflow setup though. He told me if I got everything online to bring it to him and he would install it for less than $100.00. Where is the best place to buy a complete Magnaflow system online?

I think I am going to go with true duals and use Dynomax Race Bullets. I am unsure of which I want to use regarding X or H pipe though. I am going to talk to the best Exhaust shop in town today after work and see what they recommend. They did my exhaust on my F-150 and I had the best sounding F-150 I had heard around my area. Hopefully they can point me in a closer direction.

Sounds like the setup I have on mine... but I have an Xpipe and High Flow Cats...

Your exhaust guy is wrong. From off the manifolds its 2.25" for both Hemi's and 4.7L's.

Also true dual 2.25" flows more then the single 3" you have after your y-pipe. So again he is wrong. Even with all I have done to my truck I still only run 2.5" true duals. Anything larger then 2.25" and you will lose your low end because the exhaust flow will lose velocity and cool down giving less performance.

Buying a catback is the biggest waste of money because it does not even touch the most restrictive part of your exhaust your y-pipe. Take a look at it you will understand when you see the smashed ends merging into the 3" pipe.

You would be better off ordering a Magnaflow Muffler and Flowmaster 2.25" in / 3" out. The Magnaflow Catbacks are very quite at idle and lack in the performance part of things because they leave the stock Y.

X-Pipes will make the exhaust quieter the a H-Pipe and generally have more top end. The also growl after you let off the throttle.

H-Pipes will make your exhaust quieter the true duals without a crossover and generally have more low end the a X-Pipe. Also they grumble after you let off the throttle instead of a growl.

There are more details but this is the basics...

Mufflers come in all shapes and sizes. You just have to pick your flavor...

Your wanting a noticeable idle and least cost possible. Go with a the smallest 3" in / 2.25" dual out you can find...

No problem! Magnaflow does not make a direct fit for the stock downpipes. They do carry a 2.5 in / 3" out. Flowmaster is the only one I know of with a 2.25" in / 3" out, also they have a smoother transition. With that said any good exhaust show can make the Magnaflow work, but make sure they do not ghetto that sh*t.

Ok so ill get the Flowmaster Y pipe and then the magnaflow muffler. I wish I could find a sound clip of that muffler so I could hear it. I'll keep looking.
