Things don't run so smoothly in Texas when we get ice. Nick if it's any consolation, my orders always get to me super fast. When the weather plays no part in it of course. I'm sure this is a one time deal.

I'll be changing mine Sunday. I know I was told that the XL was good for 7,500 miles, but I just can't go that long. I'm at 5,200 right now, and I've never gone past 3,500 in my life.

Yeah it's hard I know. That's one reason I wanna send the oil to get tested after say 5,000 miles, to really see how much more I can run it.

I don't really have a problem running the synthetic oil in my 01 5.3 and 05 5.3 for say, 7,500 miles, but Im having my doubts on running it past 5 in my 350 in the 85.

Its not that I dont trust my build, because I took my time and built a solid engine IMO, but I wonder about it being carb'd and all, how will that affect the oil...we all know that 5.7 ain't gonna run as efficient as the newer fuel injected ones.

Either way, all three vehicles need changed badly, so I'm ready to get that oil!!!!

My wifes car has had the Amsoil in it for over 6k miles now. I checked the dipstick almost two weeks ago and the oil looks like its brand new. I am very impressed with it. I would normally be changing it by now with the Mobil 1.

Is 7500 the most miles you guys would wait to change? On the Amsoil website it says its good for 10k. Just wondering. Trying to understand the cost differences from dino to synthetic and decide if I want to switch. Pretty sure I am going to, but I'm a numbers guy....

7500 Will be the most I would run in my truck. I mean I only am seeing about 8-9k miles this year tho. But I switch it out around the 6k mark.
