Thanks Matt. You will still like your Stealthbox
I have the rest figured out, and my new RF sub will be happy.
The answer was staring me in the face the whole time. I started this thread telling you all how I let a good shop do most of the work, and I guess that is where I went wrong.
I have been having issues with low levels this whole time, and got the bright idea to go with a processor to sum things together.
I just went out there and discovered that my rear channel from the PAC 1416 is SPLIT with a Y connector, and has one pair going to the rear channel on the amp, and a pair going to the sub channel
No wonder things sound so weak!
After I matched the gains yesterday (remember I cannot get to this amp under the console) I seemed to have lost some bass and can no longer hear the rear channel.
I was told that I had bought, and had installed a JL CL-RCL line driver to take care of this issue.
Not the case. They simply split the output from the PAC 1416, and added a line control knob for the sub level input.
For those that don't know what I am talking about; this only drops the voltage going into your amp...causing you to have a lower input signal, and thus, a lower output. I verified this buy removeing the Y splitter, and running the RCAs right to the pespective channels. WOW what a difference!
The JL Audioc CL-RCl that I was SUPPOSED to have (and paid for BTW) takes one pair of inputs at 4 volts ~ and then splits it into (2) 7.5 volt outputs; one of which is variable and is controlled by a knob. I would use the knob for the sub control. This would solve any issues.
I am both happy and pissed at this point. Happy that I know the solution to all of this mess, and pissed that it is even happening, because I was told that this solution was already installed and I paid for it!
The RF 3Sixty that I ordered, is still on backorder, and I am going to cancel it and order a JL AUDIO CL-RCL instead.
