It's a POS.

Do not wire that thing in with your new door speaks.

Get a coaxial speaker and move on.
What is a coaxial speaker? (never heard of that before) Is it different from a normal speaker?

I tried finding a component setup that would fit in the factory spot, but I was unsuccessful.

Coaxial is a regular speaker.

You should be able to mount a tweeter there no problem... Most are about 1" so you can do some drilling to the factory mount to fit the newer, larger tweeter

Huh?

A coaxial speaker has a tweeter. That is why I told him to ditch the crappy OEM tweeter

Brain cramp... However the component tweeter mounting statement stands...

I probably go with 3 or 4 way 6 1/2 pioneer or boston if they come in 3 or 4 way. I can the boston 4x6's for $80 which is the same as pioneer here locally but would to get the pioneer online from crutchfield.

I have Pioneer 4-way 6.5inch speakers in my truck. I actually bought them for my wifes 01 Altima sometime in 2004. I took them out in 2005 when we traded her car in for a 2005 Altima. Then they sat it boxes for over a year. Then I installed them in my Burban in 2006 less than a month after I bought my Suburban. They still sound great to this day.

Have you activated the rear passenger door speakers? In our Burbs there's a little amp under the driver's seat that powers the rear speakers,I discovered they're not normally working. The ones in my burb work but the ones in wifey's burb aren't...she doesn't notice so I see no reason the connect 'em :dunno:

All my speakers were playing when I bought my Burban. :dunno: All four doors, plus the two small speakers in the rear D pillars.

Are you powering them with an amp, or just the new HU?

Either way, what are the power ratings?
