Just keep some rags handy and don't have any ignition sources around. Well ventilated area as well, messing with the fuel system is dangerous. Just use your head, I read about a guy just the other day that had his whole truck burn to the ground from a fuel leak. Not trying to scare you, just a friendly word of caution.

If the shrader valve on the fuel rail doesn't spray when depressed, you should have no fuel pressure on the lines.

Nice, thats what I thought. And I wont have any ignition sources around or anything that could spark, both Optimas have been removed from the bay and the truck will be down for at least another month or two so any gas that gets out will be dried off and gone long before it has any juice running through it again.

sorry i wasn`t around buddy, there are 5 bolts, two right up front, one near the back then two by the regulator (very back of intake) IIRC, you may have to undo a flare nut fitting or two in the back, and if you want completley out of the way unplug the injector harness, i see you have new thread about an o-ring....

Yep! Haha well it took me almost two hours to get the two bolts at the back off, and I only unplugged one of the fuel lines running in the back, just the one that goes into the rail itself, and I was so mad and frustrated by then that I walked away and left the other one for today. Just the line running into the FPR I think. After that I cant see anything holding the rail from coming right out. Also, were your green tops just plug and play? I was looking at them and noticed that they had a different body shape than the factory ones but all the same connectors and such. As for the oring I think I might try sucking it out with a vacuum, if that doesn't work then I guess its going out when the truck starts up!

yes the bosch injectors are a differnt body (much smaller) but the plugs and height are the same. make sure when you put them in they are all about the same depth into the intake. i would imagine its not a big deal, but to prevent differences to the spray pattern. :)

Well I figured out I didn't actually lose and o-ring down the intake but instead I have another problem. I got the fuel rail out and as I was prying the little silver metal tabs that secure the injector to the rail itself two of the plastic mounts connected to the rail decided to get brittle and they snapped right off. So now its either get another rail, ~$100, or let two injectors sit in there just held in by the o-rings and force of being squeezed between the rail and intake manifold. One thing after another....
