i dont like the idea of not selling it in the u.s. hell thats wgere its built for the most part..seems to me like theyre trying to edge us in on what we can buy, i think its not right to not market it here,

agreed....i have had at least 2 rangers and got excellent use out og both of them..i agree that the size was a downfall but it made up for that in mpg and dependability, i beat the hell outta both of mine and they were still running and driving perfectly when i sold them....ford needs to re think the market for the ranger...there are just too many versitile uses for the ranger to completely off it in americaI think it was time to do something with the Ranger, the platform was older than quite a few of the people who drive them. The funny thing is, it is still a pretty capable little pickup, and drives fairly well considering it has not even been really updated since 1998. But, I don't think killing off their "midsize" truck line in the US is the best plan of action. If they have the new platform developed for the global market, it wouldn't take much to bring it here.
I personally really like the size of my Frontier, but if there was an American equivalent, I would prefer that. The Ranger and Colorado were both too small for me to even consider, especially since the Ranger didn't offer a crew cab. I am not a fan of the Dakota, and it gets worse fuel mileage than a fullsize Silverado, so it wasn't really an option either. Between the Tacoma and Frontier, it came down to price, and Toyota is really proud of their stuff. Considering these midsize trucks are pushing $30k for a loaded crew cab 4x4, I would think there are some profits to me made in this segment.

pure idiocy in my opinion ... and i'm a ford guy...its just retarded to do thaT AND NOT OFFER IT AT HOME.If they get thousands of people asking what happened to the Ranger, I'm sure they'll "make a business case" for bringing the new Ranger to the US market..
I will admit, making a "global" vehicle and then not offering it for sale in the HOME market doesn't make a lot of sense..![]()
