DUCT TAPE

Fixes anything that a squirt of WD-40 won't fix.

(I keep a case of each in my garage)

Well, you are going to end up laying several layers: fiberglass, resin, fiberglass, resin, etc. The under layers can be course and you can lay up to a fine layer on top. Once it's sanded, with very fine paper, if it looks rough you can spread out another layer of resin and sand again. Then once painted, it should be fine.

Well I'll be going for the glossy look but I'm gonna be glassing the area that the wood trim is in the pic but the rest has a light texture I guess I might just sand and primer to smooth it out or could go with a dual texture since the trim was gloss

O and a buddy had a good idea. I might use the wood trim for my shape and glass that and either just gut the rest and use it to make my designs or if there's a way use it for an initial shap and then have the glass form off it and then use the shape to glass the piece in without the wood trim

Either you or Kris need to take lots of pics and do a write up. I have a few different projects (mostly motorcycle related) for this winter that will need some glass but I know absolutely nothing about it other than I get really itchy after playing with our fiberglass blankets at work.

Why not? Most of them will be completed in the spare bedroom in my house. That's right total bach pad.

Yeah I unfortunately have not gotten around to insulating my garage like I hoped this summer so I will be tearing the bike apart and bringing parts that need to be customized in the house, the rest of the bike or large parts will be going to work and sitting in the heated shop so I can work on it there when we get slow. There is still a chance that I will get insulation done before first snowfall but it's a little easier to come by first thing in the spring.

Cold doesn't let the resin set up properly. That's why hot plating it and bags are the best for cool weather.

Yeah, probably won't end up getting anything done as usual but there's always that chance. Need to form up a new seat pan for the bobber project.
