You do know that you could do a 5.3 and a cam for less and have something really cool right?
I think he has his heart set on a 6.0. Also he could turn his 4.8 into a 5.3 and cam it for way less.

I'd build my own engine before I spent that kind of change on a boneyard engine. I realize the boneyard engine is a good engine, but the minimal difference in performance plus the installation and wiring/computer hassles is going to be big on this one.
If I were dan, I would buy the cheapest one I could find (under 1000), dissasemble the entire engine, inspect everything, bore hone it to make it a 370, put forged pistons and cam in it with the money saved and it would haul ass!.... but that is just me

What fits your need/want list and will work in your truck? I know some places and people that I can check Dan.

Criteria:
'05-'07 classic LQ4
About 30k miles or less
Within 500 miles of 08534
Complete with accessories is a plus, but not necessary

Any extra help would be sweet.

If you're talking about wiring issues with the 6.0, my current harness will work, all I have to do is swap throttle bodies, or possibly intake manifolds.

Dan. There are a lot of these engines in the 35-45K range. The question you have to ask on a 2-4 year old engine with a claimed 15-20K is how long has it been sitting and corroding internally. I'd much rather have a 50K fresh engine than a 10K one that has been parked for 2-3 years... plus it's gonna be a lot cheaper. These are 200K engines as you know, so longevity is not really an issue.

Just an opinion from an OLD guy who has been around cars for a LONG time.

:werd:

I'd take a fresh, higher mileage engine any day.... Unless I was planning a complete teardown and rebuild, at least...

Noob drivers FTW when it comes to getting new parts... There's gonna be a lot of broken/destroyed rear halfs of trucks in the spring.
