so coming home today i had the radio on and all the sudden it didnt sound as loud so i turned it up. heard some buzzing so i changed the fade and found my front driver's door speaker was not working. really dont feel like bringing it to a dealer to replace since im outta warranty and dont have the money to do it anyway.

should i just try and save up for all new interior speakers or get some budget front door speakers for now? if all new speakers is what i should do what ones are kinda budget oriented that dont break the bank but sound decent?i really dont know much about audio, so if anyone knows good quality speakers that dont break the bank(and cheaper than a dealership labor and price for the crappy stock ones) post up!

I just put Pioneer 6x9's in my wifes car. They were 45 bucks for the set. They sound good if your not crankin it all the time. I personally would not put factory stuff back in, aftermarket is always better. You really can't go wrong with Kicker, Alpine, Pioneer, Infinity, Rockford Fosgate. www.crutchfield.com will be your friend. You enter your vehicle info, and then select component speakers, it will bring up everything that fits your vehicle. Then you can shop based on how much you want to spend.

Jons got it about right, but if you just wanted something for the mean time ask someone here if they have a stocker to fill your need while you save for an upgrade, I upgraded my fronts and they sound way better, but I picked shitty Infinity slim mounts, when I end up with some more cash, I will order better fronts, and stick the Infinity's in the rear...

just looking around i read somewhere that the fronts are components with the tweeters, would i need to buy tweeters as well or can i just stuff a coaxial speaker in the doors and be done with it?

ill probably just get like a 50 dollar set of coaxial door speakers and be done with it. now i need to figure out what i need to do do install them because i have not a clue:lol:

Personnaly I saved up and put in 2 sets of these:

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_22024_Rockford_Fosgate_T1652-S.aspx

One pair in front and one in the rear doors (modified the openings for the rear of course)

Then when/if you add an amp you don't have to upgrade again.:D Even with just my factory head unit it still sounds pretty damn good.:rocker:

Don't know what you mean by "breaking the bank" , but I would think even at that price it won't run you much more (if any) then stock and dealer install.:dunno:

Coaxials would sound like shite(IMHO) Your truck your $$, but cheaping out with a $50 pair would probably be disapointing to you.:(

Installation really isn't that hard.

This is an old thread that might point you in a direction.:dunno:

I picked up a set of Kenwood KFC-C6893PS (6"x8" 3-way car speakers) speakers for my truck... Crutchfield has them for about $80 a set, but I bought mine on Amazon for about $40 per.

sure id like some focal's or some polk's but regardless im not gona get an amp or sound deadoning. really was looking for something that i can get away with cheap for now before i upgrade down the line.

but i did find a set of polk db651's for 60 bucks...hmm

but right now TBO with school and work and being away from my dad who would help me until at least thanksgiving if not christmas time, i really dont have anyone to help me so i would probably just go to bestbuy and have them install something. would save me a lot of time and hassle.

I put two pairs of Pioneer 6.5 inch 4 way speakers in my truck. I heard them at BB but they wanted like 119$ a pair. I got both pair on ebay for under 50$ per pair.
