i have never had a locker before and i hav a question on the type of oil i use.

Im thinking of running:

Rear - Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Lube LS 75W-90

Front - Valvoline Durablend 80w-90 API GL5

why 2 different? cause the Mobil 1 stuff is about $10 a quart, and the vavoline is about $5 a quart.

Stick with the same front and rear. Down the road it will be simpler to "add" if you need to without having to remember what has what in it - plus the conventional will protect the diff just fine.

Make sure your differential doesn't require a limited slip additive, and if it does, that the oil has it added to it already (some do) or you buy some of the additive to put in with the fluid.

Pumping gear oil into the differential SUCKS. It's a freaking workout since I had to use the little fluid pump thing. Fucking Germans.

I just had to squeeze the little bottle. :D

Hell, I did it in the dark, just to make it at least a little bit challenging. :jester:

+1, and definately go synthetic. Royal Purple and Amsoil already include the LSD additive, if you go Mobil 1 or another brand you will need to add it yourself, depending on what you have in the rear. Good luck.
