Most people that want a diesel tow and haul things. A short bed isnt long enough for a goosneck trailor and isn't big enough to carry much. It would be nice for people that just want a diesel but dont use one for what it's intended for.

Sure it is.

A short bed is MORE than long enough for a gooseneck trailer... Maybe not a 5th wheel RV, but a gooseneck, hells yes.

I drove an RCSB 3/4 ton GMT800 Dirtymax awhile back... That fWONker got up and MOVED.

Pretty sure he did the swap himself, though... I don't think RCSB is an option for 3/4 ton + trucks

I suppose it depends on the trailor, everythign we have on the farm though that is goodneck uses a long bed truck, because our shorter beds the trailer would take out the cab on a turn.

Our horse/hog trailor does, yes.

When I wrote this I was thinking more of large 5th wheel campers and horse trailors.

By short bed, you do mean the 5'5" bed, not the 6'5" bed, correct?

Because a regular sized bed is more than capable of hauling all but the trailers with huge front overhang... Which, generally, if they have that much front loading weight, should be a dually anyway, lol.

Either Way, if a short bed will suffice for half or even a third of the tasks a diesel is used for, they put them on extended cab diesels, why not single? ha
