I think it has to do with vehicle weight which affects towing capacity. The RCLB or ECSB trucks are about the same overall size so they have same capacity, just different payloads.Either Way, if a short bed will suffice for half or even a third of the tasks a diesel is used for, they put them on extended cab diesels, why not single? ha
