We'll see if it actually makes production. Americans really don't buy diesel cars in any real numbers.... never mind the 25,000 VW sells per year.

GM is going right, and maybe now there is a chance to eliminate some taboos about diesels in the American market. With all this EFI/common-rail stuff it would make it easier to deal with unexperience mechanics...


I still remember going with my dad and trying to fuel my mom's diesel Impala wagon up in town. Back then you'd have to tell them to turn the diesel pumps on. And every so often, the guy would argue with you, saying that cars don't use diesel, they use gas.![]()

I know of some people who had trouble with the GM diesel cars in the 80's.
